The department
You are warmly welcome to the heart of our great school. This is the department where learners spend the most part of their school years, and we pride ourselves on our vital role as the consolidating factor — strengthening the foundations our learners have built in Preschool and Year 1. Those foundations are not only academic but also spiritual and social, developing our learners into future leaders.
We consider ourselves successful when the children in our care have the best pastoral support as well as the best academic mentoring, personalised to their individual needs. It is our desire that our children, with the help of our empathic and competent teachers, become confident, responsible, reflective, engaged and innovative learners.
The department follows the Cambridge Assessment International and Pearson Edexcel curricula. English is the language of instruction, and French is taught from Primary. A place of marvel, caring and learning — always welcoming to all.
"No child is left behind — one of our guiding mantras."
External assessment
Externally administered examinations punctuate the Primary years — not to rank children, but to inform how we teach each one.
| Year group | Assessment |
|---|---|
| Years 4 & 5 | International Schools Assessment (ISA) — an ACER examination |
| Year 6 | Cambridge Primary Checkpoint — English, Mathematics and Science |
The diagnostic reports of these externally administered exams help us make informed learning plans for each individual learner — to bring out the best in them.
